Before I knew anything about Prezi I hated
the program because it looked too complicated to use. It looked interesting and
entertaining but I didn’t think I would have the patience to learn a new
program to implement in my classes. However, after I learned how to use that
presentation tool and got the hang of it, I was amazed by how simple it is to
prepare a show. It is more dynamic and exciting than any other presentation
tool I’ve ever seen. It’s true that it takes a while to get used to it but once
you do, it becomes the most powerful tool for your presentation. Students are
engaged and interested in the information that is being presented. It catches
their attention and makes them focus on the topic at hand because the screen is
always changing and evolving. I can and will use Prezi in the beginning of the
next semester to present the syllabus and class introduction for the ESL
courses. Also I will use it for listening section of my ESL courses by adding YouTube
videos within my presentation. I look forward to seeing how my students respond
to this new type of presentation.
William,
답글삭제That's awesome that you learned how to use Prezi. I felt the same way about iMovie: wanted to know how to use it but never took the time. Now that I feel comfortable with it I will use it. I think your idea of the syllabus in Prezi is a great one. The syllabus is typically a boring topic and keeping students attention during it can be tricky. Prezi will make it more interactive and colorful, too. Good luck!

Before Steve showed us in class how to use "prezi", it looks as a very complicated tool to make presentations to me. I'm happy that we are open to more technology options after this course.
